About Me

Andrea Balza is a Geophysicist who specializes in gravity and magnetic methods. She is currently working towards her PhD as part of the EASYGO(Efficiency and Safety of Geothermal Operations) IDEALeague program. Her position is based in RWTH Aachen at the Institute of Geophysics and Geothermal Applications. Prior to this, she worked at EDCON-PRJ, a gravity and magnetics data acquisition and processing service company as a geophysicist working with various challenging data sets.  Mrs. Balza is the recipient of the Mendenhall award for outstanding achievement in the Geophysics Department at Colorado School of Mines and has published and presented her Master's thesis work on several occasions along with research she has completed in her role at EDCON-PRJ.  Prior to working full time at EDCON-PRJ, Mrs. Balza received her Master’s Degree in Geophysics from Colorado School of Mines and her Bachelor’s degree in Geophysical Engineering from Universidad Simon Bolivar in her home country, Venezuela.
